Statesboro-Bulloch County is a study in complementary contrasts, a place where residents can have it all, whether it’s learning about advanced molecular structures in a chemistry classroom or having a blast with family and friends at a fun-tastic water park (operated by our Parks Department). We make quite a splash in theatre, hosting Broadway touring shows and wowing crowds at local productions. We’re a vibrant college community that nurtures arts and culture at every turn—where you can take a turn at bat at a multi-sport facility or take a stroll on a city hiking trail.
A legendary blues icon and a Tony-award winning Broadway star were both born here. One of the nation’s leading fast-casual dining franchises was launched here, and the roster of pro athletes from Bulloch puts us in a league of our own, especially since one of our own was a member of the legendary All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
Statesboro and Bulloch County have a population over 70,000 good people. We are the educational, commercial, and medical hub for an eight-county region. Local history stretches back over 200 years. In those days, we were the world’s leader in the sales of Sea Island cotton. Today, we’re growing healthy, happy families and productive citizens, in an innovative, highly capable, and diverse economic environment.
