Bulloch Bullets: Transportation

  • Well-established, major routes in county connect to U.S. interstates quickly.
  • Port of Savannah is 40 minutes away – or utilize Charleston and Jacksonville.
  • Georgia is ranked #1 in the U.S. for infrastructure and global shipping access.

A workforce that gets it done, a transportation infrastructure that gets it there – all with lower costs and less congestion. Statesboro-Bulloch County puts your operation right where you need to be, with the right logistical options.

Highway

Four major routes run through the heart of Bulloch County: I-16, US 301, US 80 and US 25. U.S. interstate I-95 is less than 40 minutes away and I-75 is 90 minutes away, all via major highway routes. Statesboro-Bulloch’s highway infrastructure combines easy access with sweeping pan-American reach.

Port

The Port of Savannah, just 40 minutes away, provides break-bulk, container, reefer and RoRo cargo service through two secured, dedicated terminal facilities, including the Garden City Terminal, the fourth-largest container port in the U.S. and the largest single-terminal operation in North America. Shipping giants Maersk and APL open markets in Asia, India, the Middle East and the Mediterranean; service from Savannah to Hong Kong is the fastest available on the U.S. East Coast. Expert capabilities combined with market access have made Port of Savannah the preferred choice for shipments such as steel, automobiles, project cargo, forest and solid wood products, industrial and farm equipment and heavy-lift cargoes.

Air

For convenient, executive travel the Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport provides two runways (6,000-ft. length and 4,381-ft. length), ILS and Automated Weather Service. The city/county-owned facility is located just three miles from Statesboro’s Central Business District. Only 45 miles away, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Georgia’s second busiest airport, offers the advantages of a Foreign Trade Zone. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport, is four hours away, with flights departing daily to points around the globe.

Rail

Service through Georgia Southern Rail connects to the Class I Norfolk Southern line extending to Savannah and through Atlanta to much of the Southeastern, Midwestern and Northeastern U.S.
