Bulloch Bullets: Existing Industries

  • Over one million world-class engines produced every year by Briggs & Stratton.
  • Refrigerated trailers, architectural glass, flow meters, specialty foods and more.
  • Georgia is home to 440 Fortune 500 companies (20 Fortune 500 headquarters).

Everywhere you look, business and industry are prospering here, from the sleek new refrigerated trailers rolling off the production line at Great Dane to top-of-the-line architectural glass being produced at Viracon plant. No wonder global and national leaders like Briggs & Stratton (here since 1995) are bullish about the future in Bulloch.

Briggs & Stratton

At the company’s Statesboro facility in Gateway Industrial Park, the Briggs & Stratton team of 500+ employees produces more than 1.1 million engines annually, primarily for riding lawn tractors marketed around the world.

Great Dane Trailers

Great Dane operates a 450,000 sq. ft. facility that includes a superbly appointed 3,000 sq. ft. customer preview center. With cutting-edge technologies such as robotic welding, automated production processes and numerous green initiatives, the plant will produce 5,000 refrigerated trailers annually.

Viracon

The nation’s leading single-source architectural glass fabricator, Viracon chose Statesboro for a manufacturing location over site competition from 26 other states. It’s a choice that has reaped dividends, as Viracon recently unveiled a $6 million renovation that resulted in a streamlined coating process, greener operations and brighter work environment.

Walmart

Encompassing more than 2 million square feet, the Walmart Distribution Center is the mega-retailer’s largest distribution center in the world, handling all imported products offered in Walmart stores around the nation. That’s a ringing endorsement of Statesboro-Bulloch’s  logistical and labor advantages.

Braswell’s

One of the nation’s leading producers of specialty jams, jellies, dressings and sauces, Braswell’s opened its doors in Statesboro in 1946. It’s enjoyed sweet success here for 70 years and counting.

H.A. Sack

A multi-craft contractor with a record of success stretching back more than half a century, H.A. Sack is the Southeast’s go-to provider of quality installation, construction and maintenance services in electrical, mechanical/HVAC and plumbing.

Loxscreen

Since opening in 1965, Loxscreen’s Brooklet vinyl extrusion manufacturing plant has undergone multiple expansions, and today supplies high quality extrusion parts to a variety of industries, including commercial refrigeration, transportation, construction and fencing.

Brodie International

An industry leader in the production and distribution of high-precision liquid flow meters and valves used with petroleum products, Brodie International manufactures positive displacement (PD) flow meters, piston control valves, strainers/air eliminators and accessories.

East Georgia Regional Medical Center

The healthcare hub for an eight-county region, East Georgia Regional Medical Center employs 750 employees in a range of specialties, providing standard-setting care in a $60 million, 150-bed facility that combines latest in technology with best-practices medicine. The innovative and popular Women’s Pavilion, the Cardiac Cath Lab and the Imaging and Radiology Center are a just a few of the components of the East Georgia RMC’s full spectrum of care.
